About the Role
Our Juniper Bethavon Residential Aged Care Facility and Juniper The Residency Residential Aged Care Facility located in Northam are currently looking for skilled and friendly Multiskilled Domestic casual staff. Junior junior belivon consist of 33 beds, while junior the residency restaboatake has 45 beds.
The intention is to ensure that all locations are able to provide a homely feel, a close-knitted community, where staff, residents, family and the society build long lasting memories.
As a Multiskilled Domestic in this context, you will be engaged in various tasks including cleaning, laundry and working in the kitchen. Your roles and responsibility includes ensuring that every part of the residential facilities is clean so that the residents, visitors and other staff feel comfortable in the environment. Every work you do will be vital in maintaining the high standards expected in aged care facilities.
This will also help improve the quality of residents’ life where they will receive necessary tasks in an effective, polite and compassionate way as well.
This position includes being a part of the support team of the center while ensuring each task depicts perfection. Considering you will be in contact with the residents on a regular basis, you are to endorse Juniper’s Principles of respect and care for any human being, in your mannerism.
Being part of a small team, you will ensure that cleaning, laundry, and even some kitchen work are done in a manner that enhances the residents’ living conditions.
The casual position gives you the chance of filling in for other workers in a planned and unplanned leave. Therefore, you will be able to be part of the team winning with a part time schedule while acquiring practical knowledge of working in aged care.
Key Responsibilities
As you work as a Multiskilled Domestic, your duties will range over different areas making sure that you maintain each area of the facility with required levels of cleanliness and hygiene. This will include but not limited to the following:
Cleaning Services: You will ensure that all those areas that are within such boundaries of the facility and the centre itself are clean and biologically sterile as well. Which also features vacuuming, dusting, mopping, cleaning the resident rooms, lounges, bathrooms and dining areas as well as hallways. Additionally, you will be responsible for cleaning the windows of the facility and other high usage areas which include painstaking effort as bathroom touch-ups.
Kitchen Support: The kitchen will also be part of your tip-toe activities where you will assist in preparing food, serving, and cleaning and organizing the kitchen area. Preparation of breakfast, lunch, and dinner, maintaining food supplies, and assisting the kitchen in preparation of meals will all comprise parts of your responsibilities in the kitchen as well. Also, you will assist with texture modified meals and ensure the correct quantity that meets the requirements of the residents.
Laundry Care Management: There will be a set of my personal clothes which will be dry cleaned, washed, and organized. In this regard, it is my duty to handle the residents’ laundry and deliver organized returns of them. I will also oversee the bed linens. In this regard, I have laundry that sort and lash each dirty linen as per the requirement of each resident.
Resident Interaction: A central component of your position will be understanding these residents in such a manner that while working, the residents feel that their desires have to be appreciated and respected. In this respect, while talking to the residents, you need to be warm, friendly, and professional. And also, focusing on residents’ needs and preferences while doing these mundane chores is important.
Following Safety Protocols: You will be accountable for employing the safe handling of food practices, control of infection procedures, and following health and safety practices for the safety and health of the residents and the staff.
Key Requirements To be successful in this job, these essential requirements will have to be met:
Cleaning Experience: Having experience in doing cleaning work in residential areas, aged care, or healthcare facilities will be an added advantage. Understanding cleaning agents and procedures and knowing about infection control will also work to your advantage.
- Food Handling and Hygiene: A moderate understanding of safe food practices is appropriate, since you will be participating in food preparation and food and kitchen-related activities. Basics of personal hygiene are important as they ensure the safety and health of all persons in the facility.
- Communication Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills are highly welcoming in this kind of work knowing that you will be interacting with elderly residents. Clear and friendly communication will be critical to develop trust and help in maintaining a positive environment.
- Organizational Skills: Taking into consideration the number of duties expected of you, good time management and organizational skills will be important to ensure that all the duties that have been allocated are fulfilled in an effective and efficient manner and of high quality.
- Flexibility: The post necessitates the coverage of both scheduled and unscheduled absences, and therefore the capacity to work casually and on flexible hours is essential. You will be required to work in shifts not only during the normal working hours but also at odd hours, and in odd days, which may include weekends and public holidays.
