In November 2023, the National Universities Commission (NUC) granted approval for the introduction of new undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs at Caleb University in Imota, Lagos State.
In April 2023, Caleb University, Imota, Lagos, celebrated its 16th matriculation ceremony, welcoming a total of 2,238 fresh students for the 2022/2023 academic session. This marked a notable increase from the previous year’s record of 1,558 admissions. Among the admitted students, 2,018 enrolled in the 100 level, while 220 entered as direct entry students. Are Phones Allowed In Caleb University?

Rules And Regulations
For examinations:
- Eligibility
To be eligible for examinations, all students registered for courses in a semester can sit for exams, except those falling into specific categories. Students absent from the university for over three weeks without official permission may be deemed to have withdrawn. Additionally, students failing to attend at least 80% of lectures are ineligible to sit for exams.
- Instructions to Candidates
Candidates must gain entry to the examination hall by presenting the University identity card and other prescribed documents. It is crucial to familiarize oneself with and strictly adhere to the examination instructions. Candidates should ensure nothing incriminating is found on their person or brought into the hall legitimately. Orderly conduct and compliance with the Examiner/Invigilator’s instructions are mandatory, and any form of examination malpractice is prohibited. Candidates should enter the examination hall no earlier than 30 minutes before the scheduled start, adhering to seating arrangements and avoiding any disturbance to the arrangement of chairs. Those requiring special identification must arrive 45 minutes before the examination, and punctuality is emphasized, with entry refused for candidates arriving later than an hour after the examination begins.
Candidates are required to bring their own ink, pen, ruler, erasers, and pencils, along with any permitted materials specified by regulations. However, books, papers, unauthorized materials, and electronic devices (including GSM, mobile phones, or equivalent gadgets) are strictly prohibited in the examination hall. Communication between candidates during the exam is forbidden, and silence must be observed. Raising one’s hand is the only acceptable way to attract the invigilator’s attention. Scrap paper is not allowed; rough work must be done in answer booklets, crossed through neatly, and submitted with the scripts. Matriculation Numbers, not names, must be used, and the removal or mutilation of supplied materials is prohibited. Leaving the examination hall is generally not allowed during the first and last 30 minutes of any exam. After the exam, candidates must remain seated for invigilators to collect answer scripts, and signing the Attendance Register is required both at the beginning and when submitting answer booklets/scripts.
